Working Principle and Operation Details :
Once the centrifuge attains its full speed rotation, slurry is fed continuously at a constant rate (with uniform solid content) inside the inner bowl. Uniformly distributed slurry is centrifuged due to rotation of the screen and mother liquor is collected in the liquor compartment. Solid crystals are retained on the rotating screen surface experiencing further dewatering due to centrifugal force.
The formed cake is pushed towards the discharged compartment continuously through reciprocating pusher plate
situated at the rear end of rotating bowl. The cake is replaced by a new cake as the feed is continuous.
In case of two stage machine, the cake discharged from the inner basket is transported to the next stage basket. In the process, breaking and rebuilding of the cake also helps in further dewatering of cake. Higher purity can be achieved by applying wash at optimum positions.
