High efficiency leading to shorter columns.

Regular Structure:
  • No Channelling of liquid.
  • No movement in the bed at high hydraulic loads & hence no mutilation of packing material.
  • Minimum need of frequent liquid redistribution.
High void volume in the packing bed:
  • Very low pressure drop, highly recommended for vacuum distillation systems.
  • Higher vapour load capacity compared to random packings & trays.
Low liquid hold-up:
  • Low pressure drop.
  • Negligible foaming compared to random packings & trays.
Advantages for New Systems :
  • High efficiency of FINEPAC ™ Structured Packing enables better separation with smaller column heights.
  • Lower liquid hold-up & low pressure drop across the bed lead to lower bottom temperatures. This reduces chances of degradation of heat sensitive products. Also, this reduces heat load requirement, resulting into energy savings as well as cost saving by the way of smaller re-boilers.
Advantages of Revamping Existing Random Packed or Tray Columns with Structured Packing :
  • More theoretical stages can be housed in the existing column height, leading to better separation & lower reflux ratios.
  • High voidage leads to higher vapour loads in the existing column diameter, thus increasing the capacity substantially. In some cases, capacity increase of 50% to 75% has been observed after replacing random packing with FINEPAC ™ Structured Packing.
  • Lower reflux ratios and low pressure drop results into substantial energy savings.
